Now licensed! Misty's now carries American beer including Heineken, Miller Draft, Dos Equis, and even Budweiser!
First off I would like to say,the food is not frozen as you stated, I make 9 litres of Chili Con Carne a day, 6 litres of Taco Meat for the Taco fries a day, YES the corn dogs are Fried, but then, put on the Grill to remove any grease from the COTTON seed oil, and given that char grilled flavor. Onion rings??? Yes out of the 95% of the food I prepare on a regular basis, that is one of the items I do Buy in and No Mc Cains it is not. Garbage you call the food? Hmmmmmm I serve a heck of a lot of Americans on a regular basis, and that is not one of the comments I have heard over the last 5 years about the food. Greasy??? Again if you read the reviews(and no they are not written by anyone but burger loving diner fans). Funny you should mention the diner would not work in American.... I have been approached by a few different people to consider moving my diner to Nevada, and keep it open 24hours, as well as quite a number of Diner Customers to have a Mistys Diner in Perth,Adalaide,Geelong and if you look at the reviews, Sydney as well. A couple from New York were in 3 times last month, and mentioned how well this place would work in the USA....obviously we are not able to please each and every one of our customers, but we try, and you can tell by the reviews that are written with passion and thoughtfulness, no, we can not please everyone, but we do try. If you are ever in our area again, come in with a better open mind, and try our many other items on the menu, We have about 100 different items, that can be mixed and matched to please most taste buds. Would love to hear from you again, should you be in the diner in the near future. Misty

Hi Stanley, It's Fiona from WOMOW here. Just wanted to clarify to let you know that although it may seem that there are a lot of ratings for Misty's Diner, it's because this business actively encourages their customers to rate them on WOMOW (by giving them a flyer with instructions on how to do this at the end of their meal). The integrity of ratings on WOMOW is extremely important and we have several factors that we look at to identify any suspicious behaviour. I can assure you that the ratings here all appear to be authentic (for instance they are done from different computers in different suburbs). People will always have different views on what makes for a good meal - for instance I was recently at Flower Drum and I was really dissappointed by the food. But it's great to have your experience included here. Fiona.

Dear Un-Educated Food Connoisseur - As a regular of Misty's Diner for the past 5 years and a frequent traveller to the United States, I was amazed by your mis-informed and un-educated comments that you have made against Misty's diner! You are right....In your OWN words....you are a COWARD! Why didn't you ask if the food was fresh or canned? Instead you write comments about someone's business where you do not have any factual information to base your opinions on??? You have obviously never tried Misty's chicken quesadillas (my personal favourite) or her famous burgers (Better then In N Out burger...Ohh....you wouldn't know what In N Out burger is as you have never been to America!! :) I find it amazing how you found the time to write so much rubbish but could not find the time to ask the waitresses if the food was fresh, canned or frozen! Based on the fact that you did not ask any questions to the staff it makes your comments weak, uneducated and maybe your comments should be withdrawn from this website! Are you a disgruntled restaurant owner in the area that might be suffering as Misty's Diner is taking away customers from you?? That could be the only reason I can think of that would motivate someone to write comments like you did without basing your opinion on fact! I have referred all my Amercian friends who live in Melbourne to Misty's and they have loved it so much they have returned again and again. I am not sure how you have formulated your opinions on what is frozen and what is from a can considering you never asked but I guess everyone is entitled to an opinion (even if their opinion has no merit!) Usually people make informed opinions before they go and slander or defame a business. I am a lover of American food as it takes me back to all the fun times and holidays that I have had in the United States! Sounds like you need to have a bit of fun in your life!! Maybe you should take a trip to your wife's homeland.....the U.S and then tell us what the difference is between canned food and fresh!

Stanley and Luna...... I just came home from my 1st visit to Misty's diner with my daughter and my friend and her daughter. I heard about Misty's from an Australian who eats there once a week, get that ONCE A WEEK! You must have never eaten a meal out of a can because you obvously don't know the difference. I can guarantee you her chili is homemade, I have eaten chili out of can and that's not even close to chili out of can. The fries were awesome, they were better than any AUSTRALIAN restaurant or "fish n chip" shop. I had a burger, not much frozen or out of can in my meal. My daughter also had the quesadilla, she is a very picky eater and was not happy that there was olives in it. Misty immediately took the plate away and made a brand new custom made quesadilla and she loved it. See I actually opened my mouth and said something instead of COWARDLY giving uneducated opinion on the WORLD WIDE WEB! Did you try EVERTHING on the menu??? how can you say the food is canned or fake if you only tried a couple of items. If your wife is TRULY AMERICAN, she would have raised the issue with the staff because no american can NOT complain about bad food! I should know I am as AMERICAN as apple pie. My opinion is not FAKE or "an advertisement' for or by the diner. If you have a problem with a restaurant then address that with them directly, not on a feedback site where the owner has no way of defending your accusations. GET A LIFE! and maybe don't go back there as you obviously don't know good food when you eat it.

To all the fans of Misty's - great that you had a lovely dining experience. We did not. We had a bad meal and we said so. Freedom of speech - it's an American concept and I am American. Surely you've heard of it? I'm American, but do very much embrace Australia's no bullshit values. If it isn't any good you're allowed to say so, and word of mouth spreads quicker than anything so I'd suggest that Misty's concentrate on the food. Two frozen items and chilli that tasted like it came out of a can is less than good. And no, we don't own a restaurant. There was no point in approaching the staff on the night, we simply didn't want to get into a discussion about something as basic as how to make onion rings or chilli. I was totally shocked by the food and I stand by our review, although the service and the presentation were ace.

Madie, 11 And Taylor, 12 Taylor: Okay, well i am a bit young to be stating somthing this big but i want to tell you how wrong you are to judge so quickly. This Food was more fresh than the canned CHILLI YOU MUST BUY FROM SAFEWAY!! I wish you could go back and tell them personally like people do normaly, i no this because i am very opinionitive and like to have my say!! I liked this reastrant because they had a sense of humour and Understood OUR POINT OF VIEW what good resterants does. The "word" FAKE is a horrible thing to stay about someones resterant it's like someone saying your wife is a FAKE AMERICAN! I wish that you could see how arrogent your comment was and I would like for you to go back and try everything before judgeing only a few things you tryed, you are like me never been to America so how would we know... My dad is a great cook and if we don't like what he cooks we tell him straight to his face and he will understand maybe it was just a Bad day for Mistys so please next time i would like you to think about what you put up on the Internet and how it will affect kids and our education as people say OUR CHILDREN ARE OUR FUTURE!!!!! Madie: i think that was an un-called for comment and that from your view it was perfecly fine but if you were in our shoes you would see how hurtful, rude and disgraceful it was. i know your probably thinking to your self "why is she telling me off for what i did shes 11 years old, don't be telling me what to say and not to say." i like to say what i think, and i think it was just a very wrong thing to say. how would you like it if someone came up to you and said your not real and nothing you do or say is real either your just a big fake, you'd feel pretty bad wouldn't you. in my opinion i say dont judge somthing or someone untill you know THE REAL LIFE TRUTH! i dont think you should put such a hurtful comment up, you can say your opinion but i think you could of been a little nicer about it or alot! in our opinion we think you should think before you say and not be so sure!!!!!!! Please get your facts right and don't say the food is canned, have you been in the kitchen? thank you:)

Here's a message I sent to WOMOW relating to one of the above ratings, doesn't matter which, apllies to them all... --- Sorry to be tedious but please see my comment to this rating which also applies to all other ratings today. Seven ratings and 900 words on a restaurant that had three other people in it other than ourselves last night? And what does the annotation to my rating mean, please? ie: "This rating is currently being investigated... etc" How, pray tell is this being "investigated" other than by sticking a red tag on the bottom of my post to make it seem suspect? Please tell me how you are investigating it and what the results of your investigation reveal. Is there any way I can help you with your "investigation" by providing further information? And please explain why you didn't notify me by email that you were flagging my post as suspect, wheras you were quite prompt in emailing me once you'd spotted a negative rating for Misty's Diner. Thanks.

Comparing an American Diner with the Flower Drum is like comparing apples and oranges. Maybe your wife has been away from America too long -- and for your Aussie information, most onion rings are processed unless you make them at home. Before you start criticizing American food, you should go to America and try some -- chances are your wife wouldn't be happy no matter where she ate.

Sorry but I think you guys were just having a bad day. Misty's is great, or believe me I would vote with my wallet and go elsewhere. I agree with the others, you should have spoken up if there was something you did not like, Misty actively promotes it. Ah well best you go back to your TV frozen dinners.

If you were truly an American, you would have nicely complained -- I know I am American, I have no probelms complaining when the food isn't right. As you know in most American restaurants if you have a complaint about the food or service, the management always makes good on your meal. Next time instead of walking and complaining loudly on the net, take a minute to voice your complaint to the management and maybe you will walk out with a whole different attitude. I am American and it's people like you who give us a bad name.

I agree with "dianeb", we have a strong history of speaking up in the US and not taking the cowards way. Perhaps yourf taste buds are so used to frozen meals you dont know the difference anymore.
